Opera Studio

Ackergill Tower, Caithness

Opera Studio, Ackergill Tower, Caithness

The owners of this magnificent 19 th Century tower house, developed and operated as a high quality leisure and conference venue, sought to convert and utilise an existing coach house for musical performances, including recitals and opera. CSP Acoustics provided advice on what to do (and what not to do!) and how to carry this out so that the original character of the building and the basically good acoustics (for a small hall) were retained and conditions for recitals, music and conferences / meetings enhanced. The venue has seen performances by for example Sophie Ann Mutter, Mark Le Brocq, William Sweeney, and recordings by Andy Thorburn who loves their Steinway piano.
