A substantial joinery business and main employer in Kirriemuir, J&J Learmonth, was looking to expand employment opportunities by diversifying its business operations and preparing timber kit houses, which would then be erected on their site. Submissions were made to the Angus Local Plan Review, culminating in witness appearances at the Local Plan Inquiry. The Council modified the Plan on the Reporter’s recommendation and CSP worked with local Architects Roche & Darge on an outline planning application for 39 houses, which was subsequently granted. More recently the company has sought to extend its allocation in a second round review of the Local Plan. CSP has worked as lead Planning Consultant with Transportation and Landscape Consultants, Architect, Solicitor and Counsel in preparing the case, in favour of the site and against competing sites, to be heard at the current Local Plan Inquiry.
